What is CAD anyway?
CAD (computer-aided drafting, or design, or both) is a wide range of computer-based tools that assist designers, architects and other design professionals in their work. It is the primary geometry authoring tool used in the design process in which accuracy is required.
How does it help me?
In any number of ways! CAD can be used to lay out your next on-site office, pack your truck, present your site plan to the fire marshal, even arrange your living room! Knowing ahead of time exactly where things go and if they’ll fit can save time, labor, and money. The peace of mind you’ll experience with a drawing in your hand versus a vague idea in your head is liberating. Plus, with a digital, polished piece, you’ll look great in front of your clients, too.
What do I need to do before contacting T-Square?
As long as you have a good idea of what your finished product should look like, not much! Here’s a few things that make our job easier (for custom CAD drafting):
Will T-Square Services help us design our project?
We’ll offer our input, certainly, but think of us as your “typist”, here to create the presentation piece or working drawing you need.
Can T-Square help us if we don’t have a drawing of our venue?
Of course! The best way to proceed in this case is for us to visit your location and take measurements and photos. We’ll then create a “base” drawing from scratch and draw in your elements. If a site visit isn’t feasible, there are still other ways we can help. Please keep in mind this does take a bit longer.
